How RACI Works in Enforcium
RACI is a framework for defining ownership and participation within a Task. Each letter represents a specific role.
Responsible
The Responsible person directly performs the work required to complete the Task.
This is the person doing the hands on work. A Task can have more than one Responsible participant when several people contribute directly to its completion.
Accountable
The Accountable person has overall responsibility for the final outcome.
They own the result and provide the level of oversight needed to keep the Task moving toward completion.
Consulted
The Consulted participants provide input during the work.
Their expertise, feedback, or involvement may be needed before a decision is made or an important part of the Task is completed.
Informed
The Informed participants stay up to date on the progress or final result.
They have visibility into the Task and its outcome while their direct involvement in execution may be limited.
How RACI works in a Task
RACI roles are assigned through the Ownership field when creating a Task. The Task can include participants across all four roles, depending on the work involved.
A simple Task may have one Responsible person and one Accountable person. A more complex Task can also include several Consulted and Informed participants.
The roles give each participant a defined place in the workflow. The Responsible person carries out the work. The Accountable person owns the outcome. Consulted participants contribute their expertise. Informed participants follow the progress and result.
How to see your RACI role
Enforcium makes your role visible directly on the Task.
Your own RACI role is highlighted with a blue border around your avatar. This allows you to identify your role quickly when several participants are assigned to the same Task.
You can also hover over a participant to see additional information about them and their role.
RACI across Enforcium
RACI is also used for ownership in other areas of Enforcium, including Objectives and KPIs. This creates a consistent approach to responsibility across goals and execution.
For Tasks specifically, RACI connects people to the work itself. The Responsible role focuses on execution, while Accountable ownership keeps attention on the final result. Consulted and Informed roles bring the right people into the workflow with clearly defined levels of involvement.
